Amazing Rear Window Time-Lapse Video

This has to be one of the coolest videos I have seen in quite some time. I’m a huge fan of Alfred Hitchcock and anytime I see something of his in a new light like this it’s absolutely refreshing. Jeff Desom, a fan of Hitchcock, has really created something remarkable with the footage from Hitchcock’s classic thriller, Rear Window. Hitchcock’s thriller is about a wheelchair bound photographer who spies on his neighbors from his apartment window and becomes convinced one of them has committed murder.

In order to get a sense of how he was able to create this amazing piece of work check out what he had to say about it:

“I dissected all of Hitchcock’s Rear Window and stitched it back together in After Effects. I stabilized all the shots with camera movement in them. Since everything was filmed from pretty much the same angle I was able to match them into a single panoramic view of the entire backyard without any greater distortions. The order of events stays true to the movie’s plot.”

Check out the video below and enjoy having your mind blown.

  1. That really is something special. Absolutely brilliant. I done a similar thing with Pulp Fiction a while back. I edited the whole film chronologically. It all fits together except one very small scene but it’s nowhere near in the same league as what this guys done.

    1. Damn, nice! Pulp fiction was probably much more difficult to do since it doesn’t take place in one room. What this guy did though, I’m sure even Hitchcock himself would be amazed.
