Aziz Ansari Fights The Apocalypse

In a recent interview, Ansari mentioned that he has been cast in the comedy that will be the directorial debuts of both Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Also attached to the film are James Franco, Jay Burachel, Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson, and Danny McBride. Could you find a funnier group of people than that? I’ll watch anything McBride is in especially if it’s a film about the apocalypse, throw in all of this other comedic talent and you have a film that looks like it’s going to be one you won’t want to miss.

Probably the most unique thing about the project is that all of these great actors are going to be playing themselves in the film which is going to make this so much better. It’s about all of these actors who gather for a party at Franco’s house when all of a sudden the apocalypse begins. The entire idea of the film was inspired by the project that Rogen and Baruchel did just a few years ago called Jay and Seth vs. The Apocalypse, which was only a fake trailer about Jay Burachel and Seth Rogen living together once the biblical end of days has occurred.

Rogen explains more on the film saying,

“We want to make a horror comedy. Some of our favorite movies are like ‘Army of Darkness’ and ‘Evil Dead’, sh*t like that… Movies like ‘The Mist’, we love the idea of these movies where people are boarded up in a house together and whatever’s out there is scary but being stuck with each other is far more miserable probably.”

I don’t know about you guys but when the first three movies Rogen mentions when explaining the roots of this horror film are Army of Darkness, The Evil Dead, and The Mist I can’t help but get extremely excited for this. Check out the inspiration for the film in the  fake trailer for Jay and Seth vs. The Apocalypse below.

If you are ever attacked by a gorilla just sit back and relax while you enjoy the once in a life time feeling of your limbs being ripped off.
