‘Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles’ Debuts Awesome Comic-Style Teaser

Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles is a Filipino horror film directed by Erik Matti and they have just released its first teaser trailer and it looks completely insane. The brief trailer is quite awesome and is done in such a style that makes it look very unique which I think is either going to help the film immensely or could end up hurting it. If anything this is one of the most unique trailers I’ve seen this year.

This is the first feature-length Filipino film shot entirely using a green screen, much like films like Sin City and 300. In the background the only things in the film that are real are the houses and vehicles but everything else like the trees, mountains, and creatures were painstakingly created using the latest computer technology. It seamlessly blends true horror with irreverent wit and humor. Throw in a splash of vampire-like creatures and we might just have a pretty awesome flick on the horizon. After watching the trailer you can really get a feel for its comic-book style of filmmaking and it looks quite cool. My only concern with a film like this is that while the green screen style of filming can work extremely well for a film like this, it can be a daunting task and usually fails more than it succeeds. Hoping for the best because the trailer makes this film look like it could be a lot of fun.

The film is set to release in the Philippines this October. As far as its release in the States I would assume this will go VOD soon after. Check out the trailer below.

If you are ever attacked by a gorilla just sit back and relax while you enjoy the once in a life time feeling of your limbs being ripped off.
