Hatchet III is on its way and we finally get the first teaser poster for the Adam Green produced horror film. Kan Hodder will be making his return to play the one and only hatchet face, Victor Crowley. I’m extremely happy to see the the third film coming to life because Kan Hodder’s Victor Crowley is starting to reach cult status and it’s truly an amazing character in the horror genre. There aren’t many slashers left in the horror universe so it’s nice to see a character as refreshing as Victor Crowley because he is a throwback to the slasher films of the 80’s.
“The story finds Harris hunting down the true secret to ending the voodoo curse that has left Crowley’s ghost terrorizing Honey Island Swamp for decades. Mears will play a brooding, pompous SWAT team leader who is sent in to contain the carnage strewn about the haunted swamp. Williams will play a fast-talking journalist who fancies herself an expert on the legend of supernatural stalker Crowley.”

Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim isn’t nearly as geared towards the horror genre as Adam Green’s Hatchet III but it’s freakin Guillermo del Toro and anything he does deserves our attention. Before the release of the poster no one could really get a grasp as to how big his robots were actually going to be. Well it’s safe to say that when he mentioned that the film was going to be “big” he wasn’t lying. These robots are massive which means that Del Toro’s monsters are going to be equally as big if not bigger. Count me in.
“Set in a future in which malevolent creatures threaten the earth, the planet must band together and use highly advanced technology to eradicate the growing menace.
When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes-a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)-who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.”
Check it out.
