One of horrors more popular directors right now is Alex Aja (High Tension, Mirrors, Piranha 3D) who is currently hard at work on his adaptation of Joe Hill’s novel Horns. The film is set to star Daniel Radcliffe, Max Minghella, Juno Temple, Joe Anderson, Kelli Garner and James Remar.
Joe Hill’s novel is very dark and unique which is why I’ve been pretty excited to see this one get brought to the big screen. Radcliffe plays the main suspect for the rape and murder of his girlfriend. One day, he awakens to find horns growing from his own head and quickly realizes their power drives people to confess their sins and give in to their impulses. With his new power he uses it to discover the true circumstances of his late girlfriend’s unfortunate tragedy.
Alex Aja is known for going all out in his films and whether you love them or hate them he brings great qualities to each and every film. The idea of Radcliffe starring in something so outside of the box and teamed up with a proven horror director is very exciting.
Radcliffe describes his newest role as, “deeply emotional and also incredibly outrageous in some ways.” Says Radcliffe, “To play somebody who, in the midst of a time in his life of great turmoil anyway, undergoes this horrific transformation into a devil character — it was very, very exciting.”
The first image has arrive via EW and it shows exactly what you want to see. Horns.
Looks like he belongs in the next Narnia movie!!!!
Lol, nice! Maybe it’s the prequel?!
So excited for this! I *really* like Joe Hill’s stuff.
I’m really looking forward to it as well, I really hope Radcliffe can surprise a lot of people with a role like this.
I really do think he’s a fine actor. I wish I could have seen him in Equus. Also Harry Potter grew up to be a hottie! 😉
I have the book Horns. I got it in hardcover at Wal-mart for $1.97. I haven’t read it yet, but I intend to. I also want to read Heart Shaped Box and 20th Century Ghosts.
Hill is a great author, you can tell his dad influenced his writing quite a bit. Definitely read the book before the film if you get the chance!
Definitely!
