Sony Pictures has just announced that they will be releasing the official trailer for Evil Dead tomorrow October 24th. With that, here are some awesome new pictures for the Fede Alvarez directed remake of Sam Raimi’s classic film.
I saw the bootleg version of the trailer while it was floating around the web and even though the quality was terrible, the trailer is absolutely phenomenal and looks to be a throwback to the cheesy-goodness that was the 80’s B-movies but with a lot of intensity. It looked a lot like an Evil Dead film just with a much higher budget and better practical effects. I can’t wait to show you guys the trailer so be sure to check back here tomorrow as I’ll have the trailer up as soon as it becomes available.
“Five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.”
The film is set for a April 12, 2013 release. Check out some new photos!
[UPDATE] Trailer is up and running. Click here to watch.
Not too shabby man. That sound as if it’s coming along nicely.
Thanks Mark. I think the trailer will surprise a lot of people, it looks absolutely intense.
Sounds like it will be fun and I’ll want to see it, but why does everything have to be a remake. They could even use the same world and just make a new movie based on that world. ergg
I’m with you on that one Jack. I’ve always found remakes that take just the idea of the original and run with it in a new direction. The good news is that they have taken that exact same approach to this remake. It’s essentially a movie about some kids who found a book that they should have never touched. There won’t even be an Ash character and Bruce Campbell and Raimi have both said that this isn’t a shot for shot remake. So, no worries there my friend. The movie will be a blast!
Good to know. I’ll be looking forward to it then. Thanks
I can’t wait to see the trailer for this one. Hurry up and show it, Ryan!! What’s taking so long?!? 🙂
Haha I know!
I WANT TO BELIEVE that this will be good!
