Your First Look at Mads Mikkelsen as Hannibal Lecter

Pushing Daisies creator Bryan Fuller has been hard at work on his upcoming NBC series Hannibal which has just released a first look a Mads Mikkelsen as Hannibal. Mikkelsen was brilliant as the villain in Casino Royale which gives me hope that he’ll bring something new to the dinner table. Will he portray the killer as well as the man who made him famous with Anthony Hopkins? Those are some big shoes to fill but if anyone were to be able to fill them; it would be Mikkelsen.

Fuller’s Hannibal will be a prequel to The Silence of the Lambs, which follows one of the most fascinating literary characters comes to life on television for the first time: psychiatrist-turned-serial killer Dr. Hannibal Lecter. In this new drama from Bryan Fuller (“Pushing Daisies,” “Heroes”) based on the characters from Thomas Harris’ classic novels, we see where this incredible story began.

Starring Hugh Dancy as Will Graham and Mads Mikkelsen as Hannibal Lecter, Hannibal will breathe new life into a deadly classic. Laurence Fishburne and Caroline Dhavernas co-star.

    1. I think he’ll really surprise a lot of people with the role. I hope he makes it his own. I think theres definitely potential for him to be one of the best.

      1. Totally. He’s intense and incredibly creepy! But he’s also very charismatic. All good qualities for a great Lecter. He’s definitely an actor to watch, he seems to keep popping up in interesting projects.

  1. Hard Candy’s David Slade directs; should be good. But I worry a bit since NBC will air it. This should be on a cable network.
