‘American Mary’ Gets An International Poster

Jen and Sylvia Soska — or better known as The Soska Twins — have been tearing up the festival circuit with their body horror film American Mary. Since its premier at London’s Frightfest, American Mary has been taking the horror community by storm with its refreshing take on the genre and it’s captivating performance by leading lady Katherine Isabelle.

I have yet to find a bad review of this film as they have all been overwhelmingly positive across the board. The Soska Twins earned a spot in the genre with their low-budget debut Dead Hooker in a Trunk which only showed that it was just the tip of the iceberg. With the huge success of their bold body horror flick, American Mary, it looks like we have a fantastic duo of horrific proportions on our hands in The Soska Twins.

The story follows medical student, Mary Mason, as she becomes increasingly broke and disenchanted with the surgical world she once admired. The allure of easy money sends Mary into the world of underground surgeries which ends up leaving more marks on her than her so called ‘freakish’ clientele.

Check out the poster.

  1. I can’t wait to see this one. I loved Dead Hooker in a Trunk and I think Katharine Isabelle is rather underrated; not to mention gorgeous. I just became friends with Sylvia Soska on Facebook so I’ll need to congratulate her on ‘Mary’.
    BTW Love the poster.

  2. I love Katherine Isabelle!! Gingersnaps is one of my all time faves 🙂 but I’m nervous about this one, I get really freaked out by surgery stuff…I don’t understand, are people wanting her to operate on them?

    1. Nice Shawn! You always seem to be in the right places at the right time! Sounds like you missed a good one as I’ve seen nothing but great reviews for the film. At least you got a peek at the Twins, very cool.
