I just want to start this post off by saying thanks to all of you readers who stop by my blog everyday and support all things horror. Because of you guys, I reached 200,000 views today — a goal I never would have imagined reaching in such a short time. Rhino’s Horror simply started as something to do when I was bored, but it quickly turned into a living breathing beast that took on a life of its own. Through this blog I’ve had the good fortune to meet so many great people that share the same passion, being by far the most rewarding part. I can’t thank you guys enough!
Now, onto the horror! A&E’s Psycho prequel, Bates Motel, has finally debuted a featurette that shows the very first footage from the series complete with cast and crew interviews. In the trailer we get a great look at the tone of the series and it definitely seems to be pretty dark. At first I was a bit on the fence when they announced that the series would take place in present day but it seems like they nailed it as far as putting a classic character like Norman Bates in modern times. It was definitely a gamble and so far it looks to have payed off.
Bates Motel” serves as a contemporary prequel to the genre-defining film, “Psycho,” and promises to give viewers and intimate portrayal of how Norman Bates’ (Freddie Highmore) psyche unravels through his teenage years and just how deeply intricate his relationship to his mother, Norma (Vera Farmiga), truly is.
What do you guys think?
