Yesterday we got a great look at Seth Rogen’s end of the world flick This is The End , and what better timing for Edgar Wright to show off his upcoming apocalyptic film starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost in The World’s End.
Wright is currently shooting the film in the UK and will be distributed by Universal Pictures internationally with Focus Features distributing it in the States.
Write also co-wrote the newest installment with Simon Pegg as they did with the two earlier films and Pegg will find himself starring along side good friend Nick Frost. Also landing a spot in the cast will be actors Martin Freeman (Shaun of the Dead, The Hobbit), Paddy Considine (Hot Fuzz, The Bourne Ultimatum), Eddie Marsan (Sherlock Holmes), and Rosamund Pike (Jack Reacher).
In ‘The World’s End,’ 20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hellbent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King (Simon Pegg), a 40-year-old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their hometown and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub – The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.
Set for an October 25, 2013 release you can see the first look at the film below.
LOVE Edgar Wright, super excited for this one. If it measures up to Hot Fuzz or SotD I will be incredibly happy
Same here man. I’m just happy to finally see these guys working together again. It should be a blast!
That’s a brilliant cast. I have a feeling I’ll prefer this one to the Rogen/Franco vehicle.
I would have to agree with you here. These three have proven that they can make an amazing film together and with the rest of the cast I only see great things for it. Rogen’s film is something a bit different and it will surely be interesting to see how all of that comedic talent meshes with each other. 2013 is shaping up for sure.
Yay, yay, yay! So excited for this! Love these guys!
They are definitely the best trio working in cinema right now. Can’t wait!
