Lionsgate Wants You to Know That ‘You’re Next’

Directing pair Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett are responsible for You’re Next, a horror film that absolutely killed it at TIFF a couple of years ago. After a massive bidding war, the film finally got picked up by Lionsgate who plan to release the film on August 23, 2013 making You’re Next easily one of my most anticipated films of 2013.

This low-budget must see horror flick centers on a family reunion that goes horribly wrong when they come under siege from animal-mased killers. Sharni Vinson, Nick Tucci, Wendy Glenn, AJ Bowen, Joe Swanberg, Margaret Laney, Amy Seimetz, Ti West, Calvin Reeder, Larry Fessenden, Kate Lyn Sheil, Barbara Crampton and Rob Moran all star.

One of the smartest and most terrifying films in years, the film reinvents the genre by putting a fresh twist on home-invasion horror. When a gang of masked, ax-wielding murderers descend upon the Davison family reunion, the hapless victims seem trapped…until an unlikely guest of the family proves to be the most talented killer of all.

You’re Next has been in limbo for a couple of years now but hopefully the wait will be worth it as this film has already landed quite the following and is being hailed as an instant cult classic. Check out some of the newest stills for Lionsgate’s upcoming horror flick.

If you are ever attacked by a gorilla just sit back and relax while you enjoy the once in a life time feeling of your limbs being ripped off.

    1. Not totally sure when a trailer is supposed to go up but since Lionsgate has started showing off some new stills, I’d expect one pretty soon. I hope so anyways!

  1. Looks good; it reminds me of that 80’s australian flick “Fortress” starring Rachel Ward where masked gunmen show up at the schoolhouse and kidnap the students. Have you seen that one? If not, you should definitely check it out.
