New ‘Evil Dead’ Trailer Will Swallow Your Soul

They teased everyone that a new trailer was going to be out tonight but I wanted to surprise you guys. So here it is, the new red-band trailer for Evil Dead! It’s utterly insane and hands down the bloodiest and most brutal horror trailer in recent memory. Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell have breathed new life into their classic film with the Fede Alvarez-directed remake. One of the most anticipated remakes in horror history has just delivered bar-none one of the most hardcore horror trailers I’ve ever seen and will no doubt quiet all of the fanboys who claimed this film was going to ruin the franchise. Buckle up ladies and gentleman… this is going to be one for the ages.

Five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.

Starring Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci, Elizabeth Blackmore and Jessica Lucas you can expect to see the book of the dead opened in theaters on April 12, 2013.

As a wise man once said, “It is going to get wet in here tonight. Lace your boots up, kiddies.”

  1. Holy shit that’s intense, I didn’t even recognize that was Jane Levy until I saw this one. Modern Gore effects are going to make this at the very least incredibly disturbing

    1. Hell ya man! I’ve been saying it since the first announcement of it. With the new tech and better actors, this is the version of Evil Dead that Raimi and Campbell couldn’t make. And like you said, it’s going to be one bloody ride. I’m giddy with excitement.

  2. This could be the role to finally get Lou Taylor Pucci some recognition; always thought he was an underrated actor with a lot of potential.

  3. Yeah that is gory for a trailer. It looks really, really, really fuckin’ good. I’m so excited and will be first in line to see it. The original is such a special film, this remake looks Iike it will do it justice.

  4. I just hope they don’t overdo the CGI, like when the vine comes out of the girl’s mouth or throws up all that fake orange looking stuff – that looks cheesy; but after the girl is possessed looks freaky and like good make up, which I think is effective.

I’m not big into gore. I just want a suspenseful story, and hopefully this is well executed, which it looks like it is.

I like the still of Lou Taylor Pucci on this entry; he looks genuinely terrified, and I credit that to the director being able to direct his actors – and when you can do that you usually end up with a great horror movie. Reminds me of “High Tension” and Aja Alexandre directing Cecile De France, who up until High Tension had never done a horror movie. You sure couldn’t tell judging by her performance.

    1. According to Raimi and Campbell, there’s very little CGI in the film because they used practical effects everywhere they could so I’m not too worried about the CG. I’m love gore.. the more the better but I totally get where you’re coming from with it needing to be more than just blood and guts. We need a genuinely creepy story to go along with it.

  5. Yes, and that girl’s face after getting possessed definitely suffices! lol.

Okay, I know a lot of you are anxious for this to come out…so in the meantime I have a recommendation to those of you who want a creepy film: check out “The Shrine” if you have not seen it. The last act is one of the creepiest sequences I’ve seen.

And what’s funny is that I was about to turn the movie off after the first act b/c I thought it was terrible, but man I am glad I stuck with it; so just ignore the mediocre writing & acting in the first act, and press on; once the film gets going around the middle it moves well, and then the ending makes the whole movie well worth the watch. 🙂

  6. SWEET TITS!!! I had the biggest fucking smile on my face the whole time that trailer was playing. Fucking mother of lord and baby goats… Not sure how much buckling and lacing I can do for this bad boy. >:D
