Some of my favorite pieces at Mondo’s recent Universal Monsters gallery was done by brilliant artist Jason Edmiston. If you’re a regular visitor to Rhino’s Horror then you have no doubt seen his work featured on here many times. His Dracula piece in particular is absolutely stunning and shows exactly why Edmiston is a master at his craft. Normally we only get to see the finished product but never get an idea as to the step-by-step process and what it takes to bring something like Lugosi’s Dracula back to life on the canvas.
From the initial sketch on the canvas to the finished product, here is an amazing look at the process of creating Dracula by Jason Edmiston.
If you’d like to take a look at some of his work head to The Art of Horror and check out his amazing gallery.
Thanks for making me feel absolutely untalented….
Lol it’s funny you bring that up. Every time I do an art post I think the SAME thing.
Man, I do a little painting myself and I’m taken aback with the amount of layers this guy uses. Superb man.
Yea, I never realized how many layers were used either until I saw these. It’s pretty crazy!
