Trailer Premier For Eli Roth’s ‘Hemlock Grove’

Way back in March is when news first broke about Eli Roth finally returning to the director’s chair with is upcoming Netflix original series, Hemlock Grove. I’ve been excited for this series from the get-go because Netflix has given Roth the creative freedom to go as dark as the story needed to be. And because of that creative freedom, there was a lot of potential for Roth to really make this series his own.

I’m pretty impressed with the trailer for the series so far and it definitely seems to have embraced its dark tone. The idea of being able to watch every episode at once instead of waiting every week is also a huge plus. Watch the trailer below and spill your thoughts!

The story, “Revolves around the murder of a young girl found close to the former Godfrey steel mill. The suspects in her killing include Peter (Landon Liboiron), a 17-year-old Gypsy kid from the wrong side of the tracks, and Roman (Bill Skarsgard), the arrogant Godfrey Scion, whose sister Shelley is disturbingly deformed and whose mother, Olivia (Janssen), is the beautiful and controlling grand dame of Hemlock Grove.

  1. It’s like Twin Peaks on acid with a lot of blood and an absence of midgets. It looks good, I just hope that they’re like some new kind of creature or something. I don’t want more vampires or werewolves and Roth is much better than that. So, high hopes indeed.

    1. I’ve seen a lot of people comparing it to Twin Peaks (never seen it) so I don’t know if that’s a good thing or not lol. Midgets? Awesome? You’re right though, Eli Roth definitely the driving force behind this series so I really hope it’s not a dissapointment. It’s based on a novel that I’ve heard very mixed reviews about. So we’ll see. At least if it sucks you don’t have to wait weeks to find out right?

      1. Good point. Netflix is getting their shit together nicely though. A lot of original series I’m looking forward to. And speaking of which, Twin Peaks is on Netflix and I highly recommend checking it out. Especially if you’re a fan of David Lynch at all. The second season dwindles a bit (in fear of cancellation, the network made them reveal the killer early on) but it’s still damn effective as a thriller and something creepy. Amazing music too.

      2. Exactly, Netflix is really starting to take off as far as their original series go. I’ll definitely check that out, it sounds pretty interesting.
