Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Crimson Peak’ May Have Found Its Lead With Emma Stone

For the record, I think we can all agree that if Guillermo del Toro and his beautiful neck-beard never stopped making movies we could all live much happier lives. Lucky for us, he’s a movie making machine with more projects filling up his plate every day.

Back in December we learned about del Toro’s big-budget ghost story Crimson Peak and how it was going to be a throw-back to the haunted house genre we oh so miss. Variety reports that the film is very close to securing Emma Stone for a starring role. If an actress as in demand as Stone lands a spot in del Toro’s haunted house flick then this may be just the thing it needs in order to get rolling. Emma Stone working with del Toro in the haunted house genre, being his first full-on horror film since The Devil’s Backbone has me all sorts of excited for this one.

We still don’t know much regarding the story but del Toro has previously described Crimson Peak as a film “set at the turn of the century and it is a Gothic romance with ghosts. When I use the [gothic romance] term I use it not in the Barbara Cartland model but rather in a Bronte fashion. Dark and stormy and wind-swept.”

What do you guys think? Are you excited to see Emma Stone get haunted by del Toro?

If you are ever attacked by a gorilla just sit back and relax while you enjoy the once in a life time feeling of your limbs being ripped off.

  1. It is always good to see the wife I would have had were I not old to be her father on the big screen in all her radiant beauty.
