Commercial director Andreas Roth has created this nightmare fueled ad for Herbaria calming tea featuring Pennywise, Leatherface and Death as they drown. Beautifully shot underwater is this chilling short that has some unforgettably creepy images that will cling to you long after watching it. While Tim Curry owns the role of Stephen King’s Pennywise — whoever did the make-up for this latest version deserves a serious pat on the back for giving us something to haunt our nightmares.
Watch it below. And leave the lights on!
Speaking of Pennywise, is a Stephen King’s It ever being remade? I LOVE the book but the movie version is just alright. I’d love to see it be done really well.
As for the short, it’s so compelling but really freaking chilling. I both love and hate Pennywise, haha.
There has been rumblings of a remake for a while but no solid details just yet. The mini-series you’re referring too was pretty bad, despite Tim Curry’s amazing portrayal as Pennywise. There’s a huge amount of potential for them to turn it into a great film, just have to find the right people for the job. And you’re totally right, the short is beautiful and terrifying at the same time. Great stuff.
I’d so anticipate it, do you think it will ever be made? Yeah, Curry’s portrayal is really the only memorable thing. He’s SUCH a great actor. For a mini-series, they really could have done so much more. And another big question is, who could do nearly as good a job as portraying Pennywise…
I could not look away. SO well-crafted.
Oh ya, it’s definitely going to happen, it’s just a matter of when. Casting a new Pennywise would be fun as hell and I would hope that it’s someone totally off the wall.
Hopefully really soon. Maybe after Hollywood sees the success that Carrie will be, they’ll say, let’s make “It”!
Same! Who would you like to see most in the role?
Oh man, I have no idea. Hugo Weaving? He’d look freaky as shit with clown make-up on lol.
LOL, definitely. I could imagine Jim Carrey, but he might be a bit too silly… Ezra Miller has proven he can be really chilling (in We Need to Talk About Kevin) and funny (in The Perks of Being a Wallflower). He might be a little too young for Pennywise, but I could see him taking on the role. Robert Downey Jr. can be pretty insane too, LOL.
Ryan hit the nail on the head! Hugo Weaving would be $$$$ Check out my “memorable villains” page and look at him on Cloud Atlas as Old Georgie. Good call, Ryan!
Looks like not everyone floats down there 😉
No doubt!
Thanks so much for the “pat on the back”, I was the makeup fx artist on this! The cast, costume and makeup crew are all Brits working with the fantastic team at Pinewood Studios Underwater Stage where this was shot. Over the moon with how the project has been received. Andreas Roth (Director) is a huge talent, definitely one to watch 🙂
You did a phenomenal job to say the least! Great stuff, and thanks for stopping by. Much appreciated!
Cheers Ryan!
