Will you be checking into the ‘Bates Motel’ tonight?

Well readers, the time has finally come for the premiere episode of A&E’s Bates Motel which will air Monday at 10 p.m. ET. The series will explore Norman’s backstory, played by Freddie Highmore, and will take a look at the events that helped shape him into the infamous serial killer that we all know and fear. It’s a contemporary prequel to the genre-defining film, Psycho, and will give us an intimate portrayal of Norman Bates’ teenage years. It’s a fascinating idea led by a solid cast of  Highmore, Vera Farmiga, Max Thieriot, Nestor Carbonell, Mike Vogel, Nicola Pletz and Olivia Cooke.

I’ve really been looking forward to Bates Motel since it was announced because I love the idea of visiting Norman’s younger years to get an inside look at what made this kid turn into the monster he becomes. I know some of you have been on the fence about it for a while so now that it’s finally here, let me know if you’ll be tuning in!

    1. The pilot episode got some good reviews, so hopefully the entire season will be solid as well. Definitely worth checking out.

  1. I’m really looking forward to this, I just hope that they get the characterisation right! I’m off to see if I even get this channel in the UK! I don’t want to miss out.

      1. Haha. There was an announcement today that we are getting it… in mid-May. But I am happy to wait. Just need to try and avoid spoilers for a few months.

  2. Though I voted that I’m very excited this doesn’t mean I’ll love it. For me the first two to three episodes will either sell it or not.. Sometimes I watch further, most of the times I give up. But as a Tv-show fanatic, I can say I’m looking forward to it…calmly.

    1. That’s probably the best way to go into the show. I’ve been talking it up so for the sake of not looking stupid I really hope this one lives up to the hype. It it’s a great idea I just hope the modern-day setting works for it.
