Here it is! The official trailer for the re-imagining of Stephen King’s classic novel, Carrie, is finally here! There was a lot of hype surrounding the flick for a while but ever since it got pushed all the way back to October we haven’t really heard much from the film. Now, with the first official trailer we can finally see exactly what Chloe Moretz will be like in the iconic role of Carrie White — and it’s pretty damn wicked!
The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White and her daughter Carrie. Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson, but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell, regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross, to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc.
I gotta say, I really love this trailer. It pours on the suspense along with a bucket of pigs blood. What more could you want?
Jesus, though… why not just show the whole %#$&in’ movie? LOL! I know its a remake, but… was there ANYTHING they left for the theatre there? 😯
Yea man that seems to be the big problem with the trailer so far. They do give away a lot but at the same time this is a different film than the original because it’s not a remake as much as it is a new adaptation of King’s novel which is supposed to be much more faithful to his story that DePalma’s film so it’ll be interesting to see how much different it is. You’re right tho, I would hope the editors would be smart enough to leave something for the theater so we’ll see what happens!
Right, where do we even begin haha?
I mean the biggest problem is that they just highlight EVERYTHING that was in the original. The trailer showed the whole movie in the trailer and it looks like a poorly acted carbon copy of the original. I love the original. Julianne Moore looks like she’ll give a decent performance, I can’t say the same for Moretz. I don’t mind her, she’s just the wrong choice for Carrie.
It appears we have different views on the trailer haha.
I do agree that most of the movie IS in the trailer, which is strange, but it’s also one of those things that you would only know it’s all in the trailer because you’ve seen the story before, so it’s not too big of a deal. I really think Moretz will surprise a lot of people, she’s a great actress and I can’t say she’s the wrong choice until I’ve seen the film but I understand where you’re coming from. Different views for sure but hopefully the finished product turns out to be great!
