While most of us have been focusing on Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming monster flick Pacific Rim which crashes into theaters this July, he’s got another flick that I’ve mentioned a few times right here on the site called Crimson Peak in the works and today he spoke on what we can all expect regarding the upcoming haunted house thriller. The simple idea of Del Toro heading into the haunted house genre is enough to grab any horror fan’s attention — especially when the cast looks like this, Jessica Chastain, Emma Stone, Benedict Cumberbatch (above) and Charlie Hunnam.
So far, Del Toro has done a great job at keeping any solid details under wraps but just recently he spilled some drool worthy news on his upcoming film saying, “It’s a very traditional Gothic romance and at the same time very modern in the sense that it has strong sex and violence. I’ve never done a movie that has anything remotely kinky, but this movie is a little kinky and the violence is very shocking. So you’re traversing through a tranquil Gothic romance, and all of a sudden this terrifying and sexual stuff comes in. It’s very much a haunted-house movie, but I don’t think there’s a ghost of a chance that we’ll get a PG-13 rating.”
A sexy and shockingly violent haunted house flick that will most likely be getting an R rating with Guillermo del Toro at the helm? This one sounds very cool and could quite possibly be one for the ages. Shooting starts next year!
Yes, please. In fact, replace Pacific Rim with this.
I’m with you on that good sir! I’m excited to see Pacific Rim but Crimson Peak is the kind of movie I’ve been waiting for Del Toro to make! Glad your pumped for this one.
Hell yea. Weird sex haunted house it is. Sign me up.
