The Four Horror Movies of the Apocalypse Blogathon: Hosted by The Cinematic Katzenjammer

Nick over at The Cinematic Katzenjammer is hosting one of the coolest blogathons I’ve seen yet as its main focus centers around the apocalypse. The apocalypse has been a major theme to fuel the horror genre for years, and one important thing to remember about the end of the world is that there are no rules, which is a fantastic idea that carries over into the blogathon itself. It’s October folks, that means its time to start watching some horror films and what a better way to get it started than with the death and destruction of the apocalypse!

Here’s how it works:

This October-long event is not only inspired by but also challenges everyone to come up with four movies that define the end of it all, each representing one of the horseman of the apocalypse-Pestilence, War, Famine, and Death. Keep in mind, while the title is The Four Horror Movies of the Apocalypse, they do not necessarily need to be horror movies. Just make sure in your piece to focus on the horrific parts of the film and how it relates to each horseman. You can write reviews for each film, write a list including each horseman, pick out scenes that fit each moment, or get creative and do something entirely different. It’s the end of the world so no rules apply.

The deadline for the blogathon is Halloween, October 31. If you’re interested in contributing, please head over to their site for more details on exactly what you need to do to be a part of this awesome blogathon.

If you are ever attacked by a gorilla just sit back and relax while you enjoy the once in a life time feeling of your limbs being ripped off.

    1. Hahah Tyson, you know who you remind me of? Seth Green’s character, Ezekiel, in Sex Drive. You can never tell if he’s being sarcastic or serious. Damn you.

      1. Lol – thats a good film!! Sarcasm is tricky online, hence the smiley face. Never seriously gonna moan about you my friend! Just won’t do anymore reviews for you or comment here again 😉
