There’s a little haunted house flick on the horizon from first time director Mac Carter called Haunter, and thanks to BD we’ve got a new look at the film. As far as haunted house films go, the good ones are few and far between. James Wan gave horror fans a taste of just how terrifying a well paced haunted house film can be with his recent hit The Conjuring. Carter will try to bring something new to the genre with his directorial debut which is an unusually character-driven haunted house film that isn’t afraid to take the action outside. The set-up for the film has all the ingredients for a very traditional haunted house chiller, but something tells me that this one is going to feature much more than just doors closing all by themselves.
If the below image is just a taste of whats to come from Haunt, then I’d say we’re in for a good one. The film is gearing up for its world premiere tomorrow in New York so hopefully we’ll see a trailer on the heels of that screening because I’m dying to see more from this one. Anyways, check out the image below and enjoy the nightmares!
A family of five moves into a beautiful, sprawling dream home. One problem: it’s cursed, having caused the deaths of the previous family to occupy it, leaving only one survivor (Jacki Weaver). The moody 18-year-old son and his mysterious new neighbor/girlfriend inadvertently awaken something in the house while also violently shaking the many skeletons in the many closets.
The son is played by Harrison Gilbertson and Liana Liberato’s character is the girlfriend next door. Haunt was written by Andrew Barrer and directed by Mac Carter.
