Here’s something you just don’t see everyday. A Japanese movie poster for Sam Raimi’s Army of Darkness depicts the film’s hero inside a supermarket of sorts? Honestly, I’m still trying to wrap my head around the marketing strategy of this poster because there’s all sorts of insane shit going on here. If the paper bag filled with bread, a chainsaw and Ash’s boomstick isn’t weird enough, how about the random dolphin in the background jumping through a coat hanger?
All that being said, this poster is amazing, and one that I would proudly hang on my wall. It’s proof that Ash’s iconic King of the mountain pose could make anything look good—even a forest of toothbrushes… Foreign posters tend to be totally ridiculous, but this one certainly takes the cake. Go ahead and stare at it for a while, it’s kind of mind blowing.
News has been slow in the horror world as of late so I apologize for the lack of posts! Hopefully we’ll be able to get this thing rolling along again sooner rather than later. For now though, take a peek at this glorious poster below and be sure to leave your thoughts!
Gotta love the Bruce Campbell soup can.
I know! So many awesome little touches in the poster.
😛 Oh man!
Well, that’s possibly the most amazing poster I’ve ever seen.
It’s great, right! Wish I could get my hands on it.
