There should have been no doubt in anyone’s minds that Kevin Smith’s terrifying tale of transformation was going to be clownshit insane, so when you lay your eyes on the first trailer for Tusk don’t be surprised when you’re left speechless when all is said and done. The film, which was spawned by one of Smith’s SModcasts, is a Human Centipede-esque tale in which Michael Parks turns Justin Long into a walrus stitch by stitch—and it looks 100% insane!
The most intriguing aspect of this whole #WalrusYes thing—for me anyway—was how Kevin Smith was going to approach the concept. Was he going to put his usual brand of humor on it and turn it into a comedy, or make it a straight faced horror film? Now that a trailer is here, it looks like I’ve got my answer. It comes off like a horror movie first and foremost, but Smith doesn’t ignore the bizarre nature of the whole thing by injecting it with unsettling humor that comes off brilliantly creepy. It’s kind of amazing, really. Yes, the entire idea behind Tusk is strange as all hell, but holy shit did Smith swing for those proverbial fences on this one.
Tusk follows Wallace (Long) a journalist on a mission. He finds the story of a lifetime in Mr. Howe (Parks), a worldwide adventurer with amazing tales and a curious penchant for walruses.
Tusk stars Justin Long, Haley Joel Osment, Michael Parks (pictured) and Genesis Rodriguez. A24 will release the film in the U.S. this fall on September 19th.

I can’t wait to see Justin back in the horror scene he’s so great at looking scared shitless. So excited.
Yeah, he really is! That last scene in the trailer is insane!
