With its world premiere set for this Friday at the Park City-set Slamdance Film Festival, Brian James O’Connell’s horror-comedy Bloodsucking Bastards has dropped its first trailer, promising another solid addition to the genre. Said to be Office Space meets Shaun of the Dead, this one looks like a ton of fun as Cabin in the Woods‘ Fran Kranz goes up against vampires who are taking over his job.
We’ve seen a recent revival of the vampire genre as of late with films like Let The Right One In, Thirst, Only Lovers Left Alive, Byzantium and What We Do in the Shadows driving a stake through the competition, so hopefully O’Connell’s Bloodsucking Bastards can continue that trend. It’s off to a great start with this trailer, delivering both humor and gore in equal dosage. Check it out!
Evan Sanders is a dutiful and overworked employee stuck at a soul-killing corporation with his beautiful co-worker and girlfriend Amanda and his slacker best friend Tim. Evan’s world begins to crumble when Amanda dumps him and his boss Ted hands his coveted promotion to his nemesis Max. When his officemates start going through disturbing changes and bodies begin to pile up, Evan must find a way to stop the evil brewing amidst the cubicles and water coolers, win back Amanda, and rescue his workplace pals before his life and career go from dead-end… to just dead.
Bloodsucking Bastards also stars Pedro Pascal, Joey Kern, Yvette Yates, Joel Murray and Emma Fitzpatrick.
This looks hilarious!
I thought so too! Looks like a good time!

Not sure about this one, although I’ve worked with many Blood Sucking Bastards. Hits too close to home! Date: Mon, 19 Jan 2015 19:21:35 +0000 To: palmkov2@msn.com
“Vampires, yeahhh”
Haha! I think this will be a fun one, I’m game 🙂
It’s a pretty funny concept and the cast is great, should be fun!
Even Joey Kern’s ‘stache cracks me up, for some reason.
It’s a pretty great mustache, though. Not many people can pull such a thing off!

Looks interesting. On my radar now
Hopefully we’ll hear some good reviews out of Slamdance soon. Look great!
Looks fun but when is soon ryan?
That’s a great question. It just had its premiere at Slamdance yesterday, so I’d imagine it’ll play at a few more festivals before getting an official release date. The good news, though, is that it has been getting some really great reviews so far!
2015 tho?
Yeah, most likely!
