Beautifully haunting Spring trailer offers love and monsters

The brilliantly twisted minds behind Resolution—Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead—are back with their second feature film in Spring, a monster of a love story that tore up the festival circuit last year, making it one of 2015’s most anticipated horror offerings. Moving slowly through the beautiful scenery of Italy, the new trailer for Benson and Moorhead’s latest endeavor is all about love with a shocking twist.

It’s an exciting time for the genre with indie films like Spring at the forefront of horror, especially when a couple of the most exciting directors in the genre continue to evolve and deliver original ideas that rely on pure, thought-provoking storytelling. In Resolution, Benson and Moorhead wanted the audience to create a monster in their minds, keeping a terrifying veil over the horrors that lurk in the dark. With Spring, however, the monster is front and center, leaving no room to escape. Spring looks both beautiful and haunting, a combination that promises something more than just a horror movie.

Spring hits VOD this March 20th. Get excited.

Evan is a young American fleeing to Europe to escape his past. While backpacking along the Italian coast, everything changes during a stop at an idyllic Italian village, where he meets and instantly connects with the enchanting and mysterious Louise. A flirtatious romance begins to bloom between the two – however, Evan soon realizes that Louise has been harboring a monstrous, primordial secret that puts both their relationship and their lives in jeopardy.

The film stars Lou Taylor Pucci, with Nadia Hilker and Nick Nevern.

If you are ever attacked by a gorilla just sit back and relax while you enjoy the once in a life time feeling of your limbs being ripped off.

  1. I have to say, they did a great job with the trailer because I’m really curious about what she is, haha! Added to my list of things to see 🙂

    1. I love this trailer, it’s very subtle yet hints at something much bigger. I’ve only heard great things, it’s a must see for sure.
