If you’re in the mood for a good old fashion revenge flick, then Michael S. Ojeda’s Avenged (formerly Savaged) is one to keep an eye on, especially now that we finally have a trailer that sells the shit out of its brutal nature. In a very The Crow-esque story, Avenged is centered around a gang that brutalizes a deaf girl whose lifeless body is inhabited by the spirit of a revenge-seeking Apache warrior. Yeah, it sounds nutty, but damn does it look like a lot of fun.
Despite the borderline cheesy/cliche dialog, the trailer is pretty great, offering our first good look at Ojeda’s thriller and its star Amanda Adrienne, who comes back from the dead thanks to a bloodthirsty spirit that turns her into a bow-wielding, spear-throwing badass. Revenge is the name of the game in this one, so get a taste of it below.
Look for Avenged on VOD this March 6th.
While traveling across country, Zoe, a lovely deaf mute woman, stumbles on a horrific crime – a gang of rednecks slaughtering two Native American boys. Zoe’s brave attempt to save one of the boys seals her fate. She is captured, raped and left for dead. When an Indian shaman finds her clinging to life in a shallow grave he attempts to save her – but something goes horribly wrong. The spirit of an ancient Apache warrior takes host of Zoe’s dead body. So now she walks amongst the living, hell-bent on getting revenge. One by one she slaughters the men who brutalized her, while the clock ticks away on her quickly decomposing body.
It stars Amanda Adrienne, Rodney Rowland, Marc Anthony Samuel and Tom Ardavan.
Sweet!
I like the picture of her pulling some guy’s intestines out. Haha
That’s one for the mantelpiece! 🙂
Looks decent!
Yeah, it really does. The early word on it is that it’s pretty fun, too.
This is out on blu-ray in Australia already, been curious about it for some time now, I might have to check it out!
Yeah, man, and apparently it’s pretty good? I’ve heard mostly good things about, curious to see how it pans out!
The film looks considerably gory too … a big thumbs up in my book!
Haha, definitely!
This looks very promising!
Definitely! Been hearing some good things, hopefully it holds up.
That was one intense trailer.
It really is. When she throws that spear into the truck, that’s pretty awesome lol.
Can’t wait to see this, looks bloody and gory my type of film.
Definitely, I love this kind of stuff too!
