Newcomer Ciaran Foy certainly has some pretty big shoes to fill, directing the sequel to Scott Derrickson’s sleeper hit, Sinister, and all. And so, here we are, just days after getting our first taste of Sinister 2 with a handful of stills is a 17-second teaser, one that comes with plenty of chilling imagery.

While the teaser does just that—tease—it’s a fantastic first look at the film and it should be just enough to hold us over until the official trailer gets released, which I’m hearing will be on April 9th. For now, though, take a peek at what Derrickson and Foy have in store with the second go-round with the wonderfully terrifying and sinister Mr. Boogie.

In the aftermath of the shocking events in Sinister, a protective mother and her 9-year-old twin sons find themselves in a rural house marked for death as the evil spirit of Buhguul continues to spread with frightening intensity.
