EW continues to dish out some exclusive stills from Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell’s Ash vs. Evil Dead series as we lead up to their panel at this year’s San Diego Comic Con, delivering a couple of new images today that show off Ash with his trusty chainsaw and boomstick combo. Groovy!
And for those of you wondering what kind of tone the series will have, Campbell promises the classic one-liner spewing Ash would be back and stronger than ever. “There’s going to be a lot of the classic, over-the-top, in-your-face fullness, with a pretty trash-talking Ash. In a TV series, people gotta talk, so Ash will have more dialogue than he’s pretty much ever had. There’s a pretty high count of Ash’s classic one-liners. They’re back, and they’re strong, and they’re flourishing!”
The first season of the show will feature 10 half-hour episodes and is set to premiere on Starz in late 2015.
Campbell will be reprising his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons –personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its “Evil” grip.
Ash vs. Evil Dead stars Bruce Campbell, Lucy Lawless, Jill Marie Jones, Ray Santiago and Dana DeLorenzo.
