Ciaran Foy’s Sinister 2 marks one of the biggest releases this summer, following up Scott Derrickson’s surprise hit with more creepy footage and evil spirits. The red band trailer is packed with new footage, so if you’re curious to see what newcomer Foy has in store with the sequel, this does a good job of setting up the story while providing some solid scares.
While I wasn’t a huge fan of the first film (I thought it was decent), I’m excited to see what a guy like Foy does with such a massive property, as this will be a big opportunity to show the horror community what he’s made of. Sinister 2 lands in theaters on August 21, 2015.
In the aftermath of the shocking events in Sinister, a protective mother and her 9-year-old twin sons find themselves in a rural house marked for death as the evil spirit of Buhguul continues to spread with frightening intensity.
Sinister 2 stars Shannyn Sossamon, James Ransone, Robert and Dartanian Sloan.

Was it Japanese horror directors who first discovered that there’s nothing spookier than a creepy child?
(Ignoring Omen and Henry James ‘Turn of the Screw’!)
Haha, you might be right. They’re really into that stuff!
