One of my absolute favorite films at this year’s Stanley Film Festival was the Austrian creeper Goodnight Mommy (read my review), a psychological thriller fueled by unnerving tension and a monster of an atmosphere. Severin Fiala and Veronika Franz’s wicked little film makes the news today because Radius-TWC has unleashed an all-new, perfectly eerie trailer just ahead of its September 11th release.
The film itself is a must see nightmare and I can’t wait for you guys to see it. Watch the trailer below and be sure to leave the lights on!
10-year-old twins wait for their mother. When she returns with her head wrapped in bandages after surgery, nothing is as it was before. Stern and distant now, she shuts the family off from the outside world. Starting to doubt that this woman is actually their mother, the boys are determined to find the truth by any means.
Goodnight Mommy stars real-life twins Elias and Lukas Schwarz alongside Susanne Wuest.

The cockroach-munching scene alone sealed the deal for me. Of course when I watch the movie with my wife I will ‘accidentally’ forget to tell her about it. There’s no sense in not freaking her out, is there?
Haha, oh man! Yeah, don’t freak her out because that scene just barely scratches the surface (and there’s a lot more cockroaches!).
Lol! Okay, I won’t.
How can I find this movie? Has it come out in the U.S? I really want to see this!
September 11th is its theatrical release, no word if it will be hitting VOD the same day, though.
Yay, thank you.
