One movie we just don’t talk enough about is Jon Knautz’s wickedly fun, practical effects-driven Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer, which starred the great Robert Englund. It’s a fantastic slice of B-movie horror that deals out humor and gore in equal dosage, so anytime Knautz gets behind the camera for a new project—especially one as unique as Goddess of Love—it’s certainly worth a look.
He has since gone on to direct The Shrine and most recently Girl House, but his latest effort promises to be and experience like no other, taking the viewer into the mind of the insane. The film will make its world premiere at the upcoming London FrightFest Festival on Monday, August 31st and has also been accepted to the 48th Sitges Festival on October 9-18 where it will compete for Best Feature Film.
Drawing inspiration from films like Taxi Driver and Repulsion, Goddess of Love is a sexy and shocking psycho-thriller that is sure to entice audiences. The trailer is below and it’s as NSFW as it gets, so don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Goddess of Love centers on an emotionally unstable stripper named Venus, whose life is derailed in the wake of being dumped by her boyfriend. Brian was the love of Venus’ life and the thought of him having an affair with another woman begins her volatile descent into the dark side of psychosexual insanity.
Goddess of Love stars Alexis Kendra (Girl House), Woody Naismith (Swelter), and Elizabeth Sandy (Starting from Scratch).

“Jack Brooks” was a great (intentionally) goofy monster flick, but seems a million miles away from the intense psychodrama in this trailer. If “Goddess of Love” is a fraction as good as the clip promises, it’ll mean Knautz is some kind of horror genius. I have high hopes for this one!
Agreed, it’s much different from what we’ve seen out of him yet so I hope he turns out another great one.
How have I never heard of JACK BROOKS?? I am so sad.
That trailer was intense for sure but I don’t know if it looks good per se. Maybe if they spend a lot of time in her head but otherwise it looks like another FATAL ATTRACTION thing. Definitely gonna wait for your review of this one.
Yeah I’m with you on that one. Jack Brooks is totally rad and a movie you would really appreciate. Should be easy to find!
I agree about the trailer, it’s rather slow but the last few scenes have me interested. Will definitely try to review this one!
