What a treat it is to not only see horror getting into the Christmas spirit this year, but we’re finally going to see how Michael Dougherty follows up his Halloween classic Trick ‘R Treat, which released way back in 2007. While this particular poster has been floating around for a while (hence the “soon” tag at the bottom), it’s new to my eyes and I thought it was cool enough to pass along—plus, I’ll look for any excuse to talk about this movie!
If you missed the trailer that premiered back in September, you can watch it here. But first, take a look at the poster below! Krampus hits theaters on December 4th.
When his dysfunctional family clashes over the holidays, young Max (Emjay Anthony) is disillusioned and turns his back on Christmas. Little does he know, this lack of festive spirit has unleashed the wrath of Krampus: a demonic force of ancient evil intent on punishing non-believers. All hell breaks loose as beloved holiday icons take on a monstrous life of their own, laying siege to the fractured family’s home and forcing them to fight for each other if they hope to survive.
It stars Adam Scott, Toni Collette, David Koechner, Allison Tolman, Conchata Ferrell, Emjay Anthony, Stefania Lavie Owen and Krista Stadler.
VERY clever twist on the traditional Christmas movie poster.
Toni Collette must be one of the busiest actors in Hollywood, no? She seems to pop up everywhere!
Hell yeah! She really is everywhere, it’s kind of crazy!
i’m very interested to see how this one turns out. Gonna be one of the more high-profile of the Christmas-season releases I think. Especially if we’re just talking horror
Totally agree! It’s nice to see the genre getting into the holiday season, especially one that’s totally going to scare the crap out of some little kids!
