I’m sure most of you (hopefully) have noticed something slightly different around here, and while it’s just a subtle change, it’s still a very big one. After years of being known as Rhino’s Horror, the site will now be titled The Missing Reel, a name in which a lot of you old schoolers will be familiar with. If I’m being honest, I don’t really have a “good” reason for the name change—if anything, I just felt like I needed to switch things up around here.
It started out as an entire facelift for the site; I was originally going to change the layout and everything but I really dig the one I’m using now and WordPress’ themes range from crappy to less crappy (sorry, WordPress, but it’s true!), so I decided this would be the best (and easiest). I hope you guys like the new title and continue to support my corner of the blogosphere for the new year, because without you lovely readers, what would be the point?
So even though it’s a newly titled blog, I promise it’s still the same ol’ home for all the things that go bump in the night.
I like it man! I saw that a new page on my Facebook had popped up and I thought to myself: I don’t remember following that page, haha! Good to know things are staying pretty much the same around here. Love your blog setup
Haha, thanks man that means a lot!
Two Thumbs Up! I heartily approve of the changes, especially the new site name.
Wishing you all the best in blogging in 2016! 🙂
Thank you, I really appreciate that!
Your site is always extremely organized and well put together; it was your site that got me into blogging. I liked the other theme you had before this one, and this one is nice, as well.
I admit, I am not sure what “The Missing Reel” means; by the pic I am guessing it’s from “The Evil Dead”? I remember they were listening to some reels in the cabin, so I would assume one was missing? I should remember, but honestly I’ve only seen the film like two times. The thing I always remember about “The Evil Dead” was when the girl starts reading the cards behind her; that scene will always be one of the freakiest to me.
That scene in Evil Dead is amazing and freaked me out too when I first saw the film. The new name actually has nothing to do with that movie, though (I just really love that gif lol). It was the name of a column I used to write when I first started blogging and it was a name that always stuck with me. It’s basically a nod to the old grind house movies that would get shipped all over the country and along the way they’d lose reels, so they’d insert a card in between scenes that said “Missing Reel”.
oh ok, that makes sense. For a minute there I thought my memory had really been shot as I hadn’t remembered missing reels in Evil Dead. Okay, good name, although the other name was good, too.
