Possession takes hold in chilling Demon trailer

One of the most talked about genre films that’s been creeping through the festival circuit all year is Marcin Wrona’s chilling love story Demon, and it just dropped a powerful and altogether fantastic new trailer—this thing practically peels the skin right off of your bones. Much like yesterday’s The Handmaiden trailer, this one is composed of little to no dialog, instead ripping into your nerves with a powerful score that practically weeps as a man comes undone on the eve of his wedding. Absolutely haunting.

Sadly, Demon is the final film by Marcin Wrona, who died just as it was set to premiere in Poland. It’s out on September 9th.

Newly arrived from England to marry his fiancee Zaneta, Peter has been given a gift of her family’s ramshackle country house in rural Poland. It’s a total fixer-upper, and while inspecting the premises on the eve of the wedding, he falls into a pile of human remains. The ceremony proceeds, but strange things begin to happen…During the wild reception, Peter begins to come undone, and a dybbuk, the iconic ancient figure from Jewish folklore, takes a toehold in this present-day celebration—for a very particular reason, as it turns out.

It stars Itay Tiran, Agnieszka Zulewska, and Andrzej Grabowski.

If you are ever attacked by a gorilla just sit back and relax while you enjoy the once in a life time feeling of your limbs being ripped off.

  1. This looks like another one to put in my diary. Though you didn’t say it is getting a VOD release, which means I won’t get to see it until next year most likely 😦

    1. This one didn’t specify if it was a theater/VOD release, but since it’s a foreign film I bet it is. You might not have to wait too long!
