We’ve just about seen it all when it comes to the home invasion genre—masked mad men are nothing new, especially when they’re particularly stab-happy. But that’s what makes Jason Kupfer’s short Invaders so damn special because he spins the timeless trope in a way we’ve never seen before thanks to its genuinely hilarious (and shocking) twist. Blending dark comedy into horror, Invaders is one of the most entertaining shorts around—a total bloody blast that injects a little mayhem into the holidays.
In it, a pair of home invaders consider their potential character choices just prior to their planned invasion.
Written and directed by Jason Kupfer, Invaders stars Jordan Woods-Robinson, Ricky Wayne, and Larry Bukovey. Head over to the film’s website for more info and be sure to visit the Short Round to see more short films like Invaders!
This was one of the first films I featured on Short Film Saturday; I knew you’d get around to it sooner ot later.
I remember you posting this one. Loved it!
Cool!
Absolutely brilliant!
It’s just so much fun and totally unexpected. Such a good time!
Whoa! I didn’t see ANYTHING coming in this film.
I thought it was clever how, in this short film, such strong personalities could be established so quickly.
Neither did I! It’s such a surprising short film, and I too, thought it was great how the characters really come to life in such a little amount of time.
