The Devil’s Candy gets a diabolic first trailer

One of my most anticipated horror films of the year is Sean Byrne’s satanic indie The Devil’s Candy—the film has garnered a ton of high praise since its Fantastic Fest debut, and perhaps the reason why its managed to stay under the genre radar is because it screened alongside The Witch and The Blackcoat’s Daughter, two films that had the attention of everyone at the time. That’s no longer the case, however, now that we finally have a trailer to Byrne’s follow-up to 2009’s The Loved Ones. The trailer is moody and mean, a tease at one gnarly tale of demonic torture.

The Devil’s Candy is out in theaters and VOD on March 17th.

Jesse, a struggling artist, moves with his wife and daughter into their dream house in rural Texas, the price driven down by the property’s dark past. Their lives soon begin to unravel as the demonic forces lurking in the house take hold of the young family. Jesse’s paintings take a satanic turn while the family is plagued by Ray, the deranged son of the former owners. Soon it becomes clear that Jesse and Ray are both being influenced by the same dark forces and that Jesse and his family aren’t safe from its former inhabitants or indeed from the devil himself.

It stars Ethan Embry, Shiri Appleby, Pruitt Taylor Vince and Kiara Glasco.

If you are ever attacked by a gorilla just sit back and relax while you enjoy the once in a life time feeling of your limbs being ripped off.

  1. IFC films are hit or miss for me. They seem low budget. I like watching people try and make devil movies. It’s hard to do but it’s fun watching them try.

    1. I agree, IFC puts out so much stuff each year that some are bound to be disappointing. This one, at the very least, looks promising tho!
