The Void is a bloodstained love letter to horror’s glory days of practical effects from the mad minds of Jeremy Gillespie and Steven Kostanski, who both wrote and directed the film. The duo have had their hands in plenty of the genre, with credits including Hannibal and Crimson Peak, as well as the upcoming Andrés Muschietti-directed IT adaptation. So for them to tackle a horror film directly inspired by one of the genre’s masterminds—John Carpenter—means we are undoubtedly in for a nasty treat. The brilliantly bloody first teaser, while only thirty seconds long, is a highlight reel of blood splattered perfection. Dig in!
The Void hits the UK on March 31st with a U.S. release set for April 7th.
Encountering a blood-soaked man on a dark deserted road, a police officer rushes the victim to the local hospital. Soon the staff and patients are trapped by a terrifying, otherworldly threat and forced on a hellish voyage into the depths of the building to escape the nightmare.
It stars Ellen Wong (Scott Pilgrim vs the World), Kathleen Munroe (Alphas), Aaron Poole (Forsaken) and Kenneth Welsh (The Aviator) and Daniel Fathers.
I can’t wait for this … it looks fricken amazing!
It looks like pure insanity. My kind of movie!
… but could they have come up with a better title? The Void? Seriously… how many bad horror movies are called The Void…
Lol it is pretty generic but I bet it’s because they’re going for that throwback feel like The Thing or The Fly etc.
I cannot wait for this film! Hoping they release in the US soon
Same here, it looks so good! They did just announce an April 7th release date for the US, but didn’t specify if its theaters or VOD or both.
I would love to see this in theaters.
Mmm..i smell 80s. 😉
Yes! It looks gloriously gooey with a ton of practical effects. Should be fun!
