While not a household name (yet), Sergio G. Sanchez is the writer behind one of modern horror’s great films: J.A. Bayonne’s The Orphanage. His latest, the eerie looking Marrowbone, which he both wrote and directed, looks fantastic and boasts an amazing cast of underrated talent—Mia Goth (A Cure for Wellness), Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things), George MacKay (Captain Fantastic), and of course The Witch’s Anya Taylor-Joy, who has just been all over the horror genre lately.
This is the perfect teaser—it effectively stirs a sinister atmosphere, first showing us a happy family until a terrible evil crawls into their lives. It does as any good teaser should, not giving away too many details other than the dude from Stranger Things still hasn’t gotten a haircut and that the film looks genuinely creepy. Marrowbone is slated for an October 27th release in Spain, with a U.S. date yet to be announced.
A young man and his four younger siblings, who have kept secret the death of their beloved mother in order to remain together, are plagued by a sinister presence in the sprawling manor in which they live.
It stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Mia Goth, George Mackay and Charlie Heaton.
This is EXACTLY what a teaser should be. It gives nothing away, and it does much more than pique your curiosity. The haunting version of “Wouldn’t it be Nice” is brilliant.
Totally agree, every teaser should be just like this one!
Oooooh, this was a good teaser! I WISH trailers and teasers would remember that this is all we need – a taste to get us interested, but don’t tell us the story. Gonna keep my eyes peeled for this one.
