Have you ever wondered what The Avengers would have been like if instead of superheros, it was classic monsters? No neither had I but it looks like someone already has and it’s called Monster X. THR reports, the idea is to take 10 of horror’s most classic cinematic monsters — hence the name, Monster X — and team them up to “defend humanity against an even greater threat to them all.”
Monsterfoot principal Ahmet Zappa co-wrote the initial script with the plan to further develop it before shopping it out to buyers. Okay, so let me get this straight. They are going to team up Dracula, Frankenstein’s creature, Mr. Hyde and others to fight something more evil than themselves? What could possibly be worse than a team of those guys? I feel like this idea sounds much better on paper than it would translating to the big-screen. The reason why The Avengers was so successful was because its the f*cking Avengers, I can’t imagine how this will even work.
Right now this is in its infant stage so we’ll see if this even makes it past the developing process.

This could be awesome or it could (and most likely will) be utterly awful. They’d have to make it proper dark I reckon, not all goofy and lighthearted.
I hope this turns out nearly half as awesome as the idea for this film is. Would be fun to speculate on the casting for such a project. Dibs on that idea for a future post 😉
