Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer, the mad minds behind last year’s best horror film (imo) Starry Eyes (my review), have teamed up once again to rewrite the Exorcism Diaries script—it was originally written by Oculus‘ Mike Flanagan and Jeff Howard. While it’s easy to brush off yet another exorcism flick, this particular one has something very interesting going for it—it’s based off the true story that inspired William Friedkin’s The Exorcist and it has the talent to back it up.

Exorcism Diaries is still very much in the early stages, but here’s how THR puts it:

Based on true story that inspired the 1970s horror classic The Exorcist, Diaries tells of a young woman, fresh out of rehab and looking to make amends, who discovers her family’s horrifying connection to the most famous exorcism of all time may be the cause behind her brother’s increasingly violent behavior.

That’s all we really have at the moment but it’s some exciting news nonetheless!
