Horror comes for the Holidays in crazy first trailer

It’d be pretty easy to get sick of the recently revived anthology format if it weren’t for the fact that they’ve just been so damn good lately, especially with films like this year’s Southbound continuing the trend of quality horror being told in short and bloody doses. It’s also the reason why the latest horror anthology, Holidays, is particularly exciting because not only does it look absolutely insane, but it has attracted some legitimate (and surprising) talent—the fact that it features a segment by Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer, the duo behind Starry Eyes, makes it worth a ticket alone.

Holidays will have its world premiere at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival on April 14th, followed by a VOD release on April 15th and a theatrical bow on the 22nd. Dig on the trailer below!

Holidays is an anthology feature film that puts a uniquely dark and original spin on some of the most iconic and beloved holidays of all time. It challenges our folklore, traditions, and assumptions, making Holidays a celebration of the horror on those same special days year after year.

The directors include Kevin Smith (Tusk), Gary Shore (Dracula Untold), Scott Stewart (Dark Skies), Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer (Starry Eyes), Sarah Adina Smith (The Midnight Swim), Nicholas McCarthy (The Pact), Adam Egypt Mortimer (Some Kind of Hate), and Anthony Scott Burns (Darknet).

If you are ever attacked by a gorilla just sit back and relax while you enjoy the once in a life time feeling of your limbs being ripped off.

  1. This is an intriguing premise, especially when you consider many of our current holidays have been whitewashed somewhat to hide – uh – less than honorable origins. It’ll be interesting to read what critics have to say about this one.

    1. For sure! I think there’s plenty of potential, but like all anthologies, there’s more than likely going to be a couple of duds.
