Universal’s upcoming Dracula origin story keeps on rolling along as they’ve added another victim to the list with Variety reporting that Dominic Cooper (above) is currently in negotiations to co-star in the film. So far it looks like he’ll be starring alongside Luke Evans who will be playing the most famous of vampires and Sarah Gadon (below) who is also on board with Gary Shore behind the camera.
It’s really going to be interesting to see how this turns out but as of right now the flick seems to be right on track as they’ve lined up a pretty solid cast; they nailed with Luke Evans playing Dracula as well.
The story follows Prince Vlad, the inspiration behind Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless wrote the latest draft of the script and Alissa Phillips will serve as exec producer. VP of production Anikah McLaren and creative executive Jay Polidoro will oversee the project for Universal, which is slating it for an Aug. 8, 2014, release.
That’s all for now folks, but be sure to stick around as we’ll be sure to keep you guys up to date on all things Dracula!
