The good folks over at ANTIMITY have released yet another short film that sits comfortably in the horror genre, this time replacing demonic hands for demonic… popcorn? Much like their previous short Hands (watch it here), Popcorn is a horror-comedy with a minimal set-up—it wastes no time getting right to the good stuff, which happens to be a buttery and strange little trip. While the short itself is great, there’s a movie within the movie that kicks all kinds of ass, too. What more could you want?
Brad and Sheila are having a movie night. Sheila isn’t happy with Brad’s over-indulgence of popcorn until she gives it a try and that’s when things get weird.
Popcorn was written and directed by Larry Alan and stars Mat Spencer, Sydney Irwin, Jeff Young, Tara Hutchison and Brielle Bishop. If you want to see more short films like Popcorn, be sure to check out the Short Round!
Whoa! That is freaky! I loved a lot of the “little” details about it – the VHS tape, the microwave popcorn, etc. Also, this film really stood out to me a something easy to watch on a cell phone. I know that’s the way movies are heading generally, but this one seemed tailor made for smart devices.
Also: not that it matters, but great shoes in the movie within the movie.
Thank you Silver Screenings! We’re so glad you like the film!
Thank you for sharing! I know it’s a bit late for this comment but seriously thank you for sharing our films!
