International Goodnight Mommy trailer is creepy as hell

Goodnight Mommy, from Austrian duo Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala, has sort of snuck up on the horror community. It quietly left a mark on the Venice Film Festival last year and has since been snatched up by Radius for distribution here in the States, and now its starting the new year off with one hell of an international trailer.

There are no subtitles in the trailer so you’re going to want to know what this one is all about before you watch it. Goodnight Mommy’s tale is built around a simple, skin-crawling scenario that takes place in an isolated home and centers on a pair of twins whose mother returns home from the hospital. But with a bandaged-up face and off-kilter behavior, the twins begin to think that perhaps this isn’t their mother after all. That’s all you need to know. The trailer is all about atmosphere, dripping with psychological terror as these two kids try to figure out what happened to their mother.

10-year-old twins wait for their mother. When she returns with her head wrapped in bandages after surgery, nothing is as it was before. Stern and distant now, she shuts the family off from the outside world. Starting to doubt that this woman is actually their mother, the boys are determined to find the truth by any means.

Goodnight Mommy stars real-life twins Elias and Lukas Schwarz alongside Susanne Wuest. Radius is aiming for a release sometime this year. Fingers crossed!

If you are ever attacked by a gorilla just sit back and relax while you enjoy the once in a life time feeling of your limbs being ripped off.

    1. Lol, it’s a fantastic trailer and super creepy. It was one of my favorite films at the Stanley Film Festival and will no doubt end up being one of the year’s very best!
