Short film director Joshua Giuliano is becoming a regular around these parts and for good reason; you might remember The Flesh of My Lovers and Grandma’s House, two wildly different shorts that are both stunning in their own right—if not, follow the links to see them for yourself. His latest, In Sound, We Live Forever, is an entirely different look from Giuliano as he delivers a unique take on the storied slasher genre.
I won’t go into detail here—it’s best to go into this one cold (like a corpse)—but Giuliano’s filmmaking approach to this is absolutely brilliant and effective in a way that’s legitimately jarring and terrifying. Really impressive stuff here. Remember, if you want to see more short films like In Sound, We Live Forever, visit the Short Round!
“Jarring and terrifying” is right. Brilliant premise, especially the use of sound.
