Just as I expected, Amazon Studios have dropped the first trailer for Nicolas Winding Refn’s The Neon Demon—it comes right on the heels of this fantastic new poster and an announcement that the film will see a release this summer. Described as Valley of The Dolls and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Neon Demon looks every bit like a Nicolas Winding Refn movie as you would hope—washed in stunning visuals and an undeniable sense of brooding atmosphere, the first trailer for The Neon Demon is an absolute monster.
This one is set to hit theaters in June.
When aspiring model Jesse moves to Los Angeles, her youth and vitality are devoured by a group of beauty-obsessed women who will take any means necessary to get what she has.
It stars Elle Fanning, Jena Malone, Karl Glusman, Bella Heathcote, Abbey Lee, Desmond Harrington, Christina Hendricks, and Keanu Reeves.
YES!
That trailer looks great! At least people seem to be talking so it can’t nearly be as bad as Only God Forgives, right? lol
Lol, I’m with you there. I really tried to like Only God Forgives but that movies was just a huge mess.
Been meaning to get more into Refn’s work. This looks interesting.
Refn’s stuff is hit or miss for me, so I’m going into this one with cautious optimism. The trailer is fantastic, tho!
Can’t wait for this! Love me some NWR and the adorable Elle Fanning <3!!
I have a feeling that Elle Fanning is going to turn some heads in this one, she looks phenomenal here!
Woooow. I fear this won’t get a release in Australia but I sure hope I’m wrong. I really wanna see this!!
I’m sure it’ll show up there at some point, I just hope the wait isn’t too much longer!
I’ll probably be waiting for DVD, though there is a small chance it’ll play here, but that is only if it does well in the US. It Follows was only released here cos it did well in the US, otherwise we never would have seen it. Hopefully this does well!
His movies can be a pretty tough sell, so it’ll be interesting to see how wide of a release it gets and if people warm up to it. We’ll know soon enough!
Ah, the trailer proves that, no matter what comes, it will be pretty to look at at the very least xD Looking forward to seeing this, I really liked that trailer.
The cinematography looks beautiful – very high-fashion model-ish. I would not have thought to cast Elle Fanning in this kind of role, but I suspect she’ll be really good.
Agreed. The visuals are simply amazing (no surprise there, really) and Elle Fanning is certainly an interesting choice; a very intriguing one, though.
